The overall aim of our training programme is to equip participants with an understanding of CEE methodology for undertaking systematic reviews (SR) and systematic maps (SM) in environmental management and thereby, to increase the number and quality of CEE SRs and SMs available to both practitioners and policy makers via the open-access CEE journal ‘Environmental Evidence’ and the CEE website. Conducting systematic reviews in environmental management is methodologically challenging and our training courses are specifically tailored to the environmental sector. The training programme consists of a set of modules which follow the CEE Guidelines for Systematic Review, delivered through a workshop format.

CEE Online Course

#ESTraining is a variety of free-to-access (Open Educational) training courses in evidence synthesis. The courses span a suite of synthesis methods, including systematic review and systematic mapping, stakeholder engagement in evidence synthesis, and evidence synthesis technology. They are all self-paced, online courses, with integrated assessments and the option of a course certificate. They consist of video lectures, course reading and recommended literature, along with considerable hands-on experience of systematic review methods and tools to support systematic reviews, like review management software. The courses are provided entirely free-of-charge – our aim is to build capacity and increase the uptake, rigour and awareness of systematic evidence synthesis methodology. Courses are intended for those interested in conducting or appraising systematic reviews and systematic maps, or people wishing to commission one or more evidence syntheses.
